THE STORY
Afghan Wool
Each flatweave rug is made from fine Ghazni wool, a type of wool unique to Afghanistan owing to its terrain and climate. Every strand is spun and dyed by hand. The majority of our colours come from natural dyes extracted from locally found flowers, bark and roots. Ghazni wool is famously hardwearing and absorbs dyes organically, giving each Afghan rug a unique patina and mottled finish known as abrash.

Handwoven Rugs
From the spinning and dying of the wool, to the cutting and washing of the rug, every step of the production process is made by hand in Afghanistan. Every flatweave rug takes between around three to four months to make, and bears the distinct mark of the individual artisans who brought it to life.
Our flatweave rugs are hardwearing, with Afghan rugs known to last many centuries.
