IMPACT PROJECTS
-
Peace Mask Project
The Peace Masks Project aims to combat the shared threat of COVID-19 and provide livelihoods to those living and working in conflict affected areas. The project forms part of a larger effort by the Peace Dividend Initiative to help ease tensions in conflict-affected areas by identifying and facilitating key peace-supporting economic opportunities and encouraging cooperation.

EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER

COVID EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER
Coronavirus is impacting us all. However, for our friends and colleagues in Afghanistan the situation is already extremely precarious. We can't sit passively as the virus spreads. That is why we are launching a campaign to raise £18,000 for the health workers serving on the frontlines of this battle.
-
UN LIVE X ISHKAR
We were honoured to be the chosen curators of the Museum for the United Nations’s first exhibition: ‘My Mark: My City’ a campaign aiming to galvanise climate action with a positive vision of what sustainable cities of the future could, and should look like.
-
THE PIN PROJECT
The Pin Project is an initiative ISHKAR launched on Kickstarter last year. We raised over £63,000 to provide jewellery training and work for displaced people living in Burkina Faso, Turkey, Jordan and Afghanistan.
-
NRC X ISHKAR
Last year severe droughts struck western Afghanistan, hitting hardest those who are dependent on agriculture for their subsistence. Through this collaboration ISHKAR, who provided the designs, and NRC, who provided the training, are helping the women affected by the crisis to diversify their incomes as the climate crisis worsens.
OUR AIMS
ECO-FRIENDLY
Wherever we can we try to use re-cycled materials and less plastic.
QUALITY
We pride ourselves on products that are of an uncompromising quality, despite often being made in challenging environments.
SOCIAL
Our products are largely purchased through local NGOs, ensuring a proportion of the money we invest is recycled back into development projects.
