STORY
TECHNIQUE
The fabrics we use are woven on the handloom by skilled artisans. The gentle hand of nature colours the fabric with dyes extracted from leaves, flowers, roots and bark. We continue to foster the traditional crafts, using hand-woven cloth from hand-spun thread for our products.
AJRAK
Ajrak (Sindhi: اجرڪ), also known as Ajrakh, is a unique form of blockprinting found mostly in Sindh, Pakistan and Ajrakhpur, India.
Koel's Ajrak production is done in Matiari, a city known for this generations-old craft. The word 'Matiari' is derived from two Sindhi words 'Mat' and 'yari', meaning friendship with earthen water pots.
